Rachel Araya graduated from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor with Distinction. She also graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School where she earned her Juris Doctorate.
Rachel has earned several honor awards in her lifetime. For example, she has been a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society since 1995. In addition, she was one of the Outstanding Young Women of America in 1997.
Through her own trials and tribulations, Rachel learned early on that volunteerism is important. She volunteered at the Children’s Aid Society in Detroit, Michigan where she helped abused and neglected children cope with their parents during supervised visitations. Rachel also participated in the Outreach program at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor where she helped at-risk youths develop a plan for empowerment. In addition, Rachel empowered herself by receiving specialized training at The Domestic Violence Project, Inc./SAFE House in Ann Arbor, Michigan where she learned how to navigate women and children out of crisis.
